Event information: Central Coast winter series - Kincumber Mountain

Export to calendar Back

Welcome to the second event in Central Coast's Winter Series.

Location: Kincumba Mountain Reserve. Access is via Kincumber St and Island View Drive in Kincumber. Continue uphill, watch out for bump in road near the water tank, and choose one of three parking areas at the top.

There are three courses: Easy (1.6 km distance, 40 m climb), Moderate (3 - 3.5 km distance, 85 m climb) and Hard (4 - 5 km distance, 160 m climb).
Starts are from 9.30 until 12.00.
Fees are: $10 members; $7 juniors; $15 non-members. First-timers are free.

Please pre-enter online, preferably before midday on Friday. Entering early will secure you a good quality map.
Later entry, and on the day (online preferred) will be possible, but be aware we will only have limited spare maps.
If you haven't registered with Eventor before and would like to try orienteering without immediately becoming a member, you can register as a casual for free. (See the "How to register as a Casual" link, lower right.)

If you wish to run as a group: one person should enter normally on their chosen course; all other members of group, please enter the free "Extra group member" class.
First-timers can enter the Easy course for free. Please select the "Easy - first timer" class.

There are toilets in the reserve, with basins to wash hands, but the water is marked "not suitable for drinking". Please bring your own drinking water. There is no water on the courses.
Leg cover/long pants are suggested for the Moderate course; recommended for the Hard.
Map scales are: Hard & Moderate 1:7500; Easy 1:5000.
Control descriptions are printed on the front of the map: English text for Easy; IOF symbols for Moderate and Hard. If you want to have them on a separate piece of paper, they are available, as document links on this page, to download and cut out.

There will be no results on display, but, during the event, we expect to have live result updates available from our web-site.

Covid-19 Safety requirements do, of course, apply at this event, and we ask you to observe necessary precautions.
Please check out the current ONSW Safety Plan, via link lower right on this page.

Please observe social distancing practices before, during and after you compete, and do not attend if you are feeling unwell.
Try to only touch one map when picking up your map at the start.

A new restriction is that you must not attend if you have been in Victoria in the last 14 days, or you have been to any locations of recent NSW cases (see other link, lower right).
