Venue: Allambie Heights Oval, Allambie Road, Allambie Heights.
Map: "Allenby Park"
Allenby Park is a completely new area for orienteering. The start and finish will be across the busy Allambie Road from the assembly area. The Mini does not cross the road but is on a section of the Manly Dam map, so there are no common controls with the main map.
Allenby Park is steep bushland, there are some spectacular waterfalls in it. The course also goes down to Gumbooya Reserve with its aboriginal rock carvings, the carvings are out of bounds and marked on the the map as OOB. The bushland on the map is not OOB but it is recommended you keep to the tracks. A few controls sites need a bit of fine navigation but most are pretty obvious. Allambie Heights shopping centre is adjacent to the Assembly area.

THE BRAND NEW 'ALLENBY PARK' PROMISE - FROM ABOVE.
Another exciting Season 30 newbie, but one that looks like it might involve a contour or two. The large brooding bush reserve behind Warringah Mall has long been a noted 'missing' feature of the SSS landscape. No more. But instead of up/down, we have figured the reverse here - with fast starts maybe costing the unwary. Going to be a fantastic debut!

The Sydney Summer Series (also known as Sydney Map Running) offers great summer orienteering in Sydney, utilising the city's best parks, reserves, beaches, harbour-side and bush areas. Join us as we continue the action packed 30th season.

This is a 45 minute score course event with starts from 4.30pm until 6.45pm. A free off-road MINI course is also available.
