An OV requirement of Covid Safe return to sport is that events are pre-entry only. As this is a local AWOC event pre payment of entry fees will be by Direct Debit to AWOC. BSB 640 000 Account No. 111106820. Email to Leigh Privett of your intention to compete. If for some very good reason you cannot pre-enter we will accept your entry on the day but please bring the correct money, NO CHANGE WILL BE GIVEN.

Racecourse Event 18/10/20 by AWOC
Rocky terrain, some places steep, some open going and an interesting feature. Oceania middle map in 2019. Lot of grass has grown lately.
Courses 4 – 2.2 km easy/medium
3 – 2.9 km medium
2 - 3.7 hard
1 – 4.5 km , hard and tough
Enter your selected course and pay entry fee of $7, members, $10 non members, ½ juniors ,on eventor.
Prepayment preferred but exact money accepted on the day (no change given)
Directions. Near Beechworth. Turn off the Beechworth- Wodonga Rd , easterly on to Old Wooragee Rd just outside the derestriction signs on north side of Beechworth. (O sign) Proceed and park as directed which may be in groupings to comply with covid rules.
There will be no assembly, or site toilets ( use those in Beechworth or elsewhere before or after or discreetly in the bush). We will be adjacent to Prison land and running on their land under strict conditions.
Ready yourself by your car, proceed to the start when there are only few people there, and away.
Some controls on stands, others attached to trees.
Dip to start. The finish is remote. Proceed to tent where you will be given your time and then proceed to your car. Results on eventor. SI hire available.
Wear a mask at the event except when on the course. Carry your mask on the course.
Maintain social distance at all times. Read our general instructions also.
As it is steep in parts it is advisable to carry a phone. Emergency number is on the map.
There are a few tough fence crossings.
Starts from 10am. Course closure at 2pm.
Map is A4. 7500 scale If wet use a plastic bag.
Everybody goes to “Telegraph Rock” which is where Ned Kelly sympathisers warned Ned 9km away at his cave, by torch or mirror of police posse’s coming. At that location dip once wait a minute (minimum) and dip again and away. There will be a clock there. Less than a minute and you get a 5 min. penalty.

Enter event by Eventor as usual with preferred course, make payment, and check your si stick number in ‘my pages’. Do all that is possible to prevent ‘office’ contact on the day. In extenuating circumstances we will accept correct money payment (no change given) at the prestart.
We are not expecting big numbers but watch final instructions on eventor in case we have to make separate time allocation groupings.
Arrive at the venue and park as directed which may be in separated groups.
There will be no assembly area. There will be no catered toilets so use public toilets elsewhere beforehand and after.
Ready yourself and go to the start when there is less than 10 people in the vicinity.
Wear a mask before and after competing and carry one with you whilst competing.
There will be a start control with a ‘dip’ start.
The finish is a separate location to the start, from which you should return to your car.
At the finish you will be given your time and it will appear on eventor.
Maintain 2 arms lengths separation at all times.
Please do not attend if you live in, or have recently visited a covid hotspot or are suspect of carrying the virus.
If you comply with these instructions, we can continue our sport and have a ‘good’ event.
As usual, and more so in these covid times have the usual total respect for the property we compete on.
