All courses are on 1:4000. All distances as the crows fly - but you can't fly over water or through impassable buildings or fences. Major road crossings may and should be avoided by using underpasses. Long course requires scrambling down a 1.5m concrete wall. Please be respectful of campers if passing through the camp ground. Medium and long courses will/may take you on to the beach - however you can avoid getting wet unless you choose to.

Gates: The school is surrounded by a number of high impassable fences. However, there are numerous gates which are marked on map as a gap in the fence, or as a crossing point where there is room to display the symbol. These gates will be fixed open for the event duration.

The dog park on the western side of the map is also bounded by a high impassable fence, with double entry gates, which may be entered. Should your route take you in to the park then you must close the primary gate prior to opening the secondary gate. These gates cannot be held open for obvious reasons.

Road Crossings: The start and finish are in Barker Reserve. You must use the mandatory underpass to cross under George Main Rd when departing and entering Barker Reserve. The short course involves crossing the dead-end Oval Park Rd / Kullaroo Rd. Whilst the road is generally very quiet, please take care when crossing. The medium and long course take runners further afield and involve several street crossings which should be relatively quiet..

Map Limits: The vegetation and terrain on the northern and western limits of the map have not been mapped particularly accurately, however, tracks are correct. The same applies to the vegetation along the river in the caravan park.

Water: There is a drinking fountain at Barker Reserve (start), numerous in the school grounds (all courses), and two in Kent reserve (long course only - marked on the map).

Snakes: All controls can be accessed using tracks or slashed grasslands. Please take care when traversing the non-urban areas, especially near the river.

Map: Vincent Loye has made a new map which includes single tracks through Hindmarsh River Reserve.

Catherine Loye has set 3 line courses to suite all riders, giving the chance to explore areas that may be new to you.
