Event information: Garingal Handicap race and open event

Export to calendar Back

Venue: Tyrrell Park, John Miller Street, East Ryde.
Map: Field of Mars 1:10000

Come and enjoy a challenging run around Field of Mars and the surrounds. This event is open to everyone.

Three line courses will be available:

Long 6.1km
Medium 3.9km
Easy 2.2km

Garingal members will be able to run in the event as a handicap race. This will only apply to the long and medium courses. The handicaps have been calculated using SSS scores and other races as necessary. They will be displayed at the arena prior to the start. The handicap time will be calculated by multiplying the actual time run by the handicap.
There will be handicap winners for male and female on each course as well as an overall handicap winner. Remember, anyone can win!

There will be limited EOD so pre-entry is preferred. This will also help with calculation of the handicap results.

Starts will be available from 9.30am to 11.00. A queuing start will be used on each course. Control descriptions are on the map. If COVID conditions allow there will be loose descriptions available on the day. If not, they will be posted to Eventor the night before.

COVID conditions will still apply. Do not attend if you have been unwell or have been to any sites which may be listed on the NSW government website. Sanitise and wash hands. Maintain social distance where possible. Further details are available in the Garingal COVID information sheet on Eventor.

Orienteering Club Members - Seniors $12, Juniors (Under 21) $8, Families max $32.
Casual Registrations (Non-members) - Seniors $20, Juniors (Under 21) $10, Families $50. All casual rates include SI stick hire.

Extra maps $2, SI Hire $4.

Pre-entry is highly preferred although entry on the day will be available. NO CASH ACCEPTED; tap-and-go payments only. Pre-entry closes Friday midnight before the event.

SI-Air+ will be enabled for all field controls. However both the Start and Finish must be physically dipped.
On arrival all competitors please go to the Meeting Point first.
