Event information: Women’s Nav Skills Weekend

Export to calendar Back

Our next Women’s Nav Skills Weekend will be conducted over 3 and 4 March 2018 and we will be based in the Southern Highlands.
Over the two days we will focus on off-track navigation skills and getting in some non-competitive practice.  Whether you keen to sneak in some orienteering or rogaining training ahead of the winter season are looking to learn new skills for bushwalking or adventure racing this weekend will offer something for you.
We have a team of experienced and friendly female coaches lined up and they are ready to help you progress your nav skills.

Who Is The Weekend Open To?
Women of all ages that are keen to learn or improve their off-track navigation and orienteering skills.  You are very welcome if you have never navigated in a bush environment before.  You are also very welcome if you are experienced but just want to brush up on some skills or get in some practice (and spend time with an awesome bunch of women!).  Beginner, moderate and advanced level training options will be available.

Timing
We will meet up mid morning on the Saturday and expect to conclude mid afternoon on the Sunday.

Accommodation
Accommodation will be convenient and comfortable to ensure that you can relax, get a great night’s rest and really enjoy the social side of our weekend away.  We will be staying at the Bundanoon Hotel, dining in the restaurant and enjoying lots of stories and laughs.

Transport
Participants should make their own transport arrangements.  It is likely that there will be car sharing opportunities.

What should I bring?
A sense of adventure and good humour!
Comfortable clothes for two days of exercise including leg cover (track suit bottoms or running tights are good).
Compass and whistle.
SportIdent stick (if you have one).  We have spare if you don’t own one :).
Lunch and snacks for Saturday as well as a water bottle for each day.
A change of clothes for dinner on Saturday night plus PJs and toiletries.

Cost
The cost for the weekend will be $230 (plus processing fees) per head.  This includes two days of coaching, maps and land access fees as well as drinks and nibbles on Saturday evening, Saturday night dinner, Sunday breakfast, snacks as well as a picnic lunch on Sunday.
