WELCOME TO PARADISE
Beautiful open mallee country, just 3 hours from Adelaide. Longer courses mostly on terrain that has been out of bounds to orienteering for the past 18 years. Thanks to a change in landowners, it is 'Paradise Regained'.
Overnight camping is available on Friday and Saturday nights at Mulga Valley (approx. an hour away). Or you can stay in the historic mining town of Burra, less than an hour away.

Allow 60 minutes from Burra to event Arena. Follow Barrier Hwy (A32) north to Mt Bryan. Turn off 300m after Mt Bryan. After 12km, turn right into White Fields Road. Travel 7km. Enter Caroona Creek Conservation Park at Dust Hole Creek Rd intersection. Arena is 4km from here, drive slowly. GPS -33.472013, 139.076529. Signs from Mt Bryan turn-off.

Enter on the Day is possible for all courses, subject to map availability.

Map: 1:10 000, mallee covered spur gully terrain with some rocky outcrops and complex watercourse systems. Marshes and thick vegetation along Newikie Creek, which bisects the map area, may be seasonal. It is generally faster to run along hillsides and spurs than in watercourses. Larger water courses often have dangerous steep and unstable earthen cliffs which should be avoided.
There is a crossing point for Hard courses near the last control, where crates will be placed to help negotiate the barbed wire fence. Its use is not mandatory, and it's not marked on map.
Note that none of the area shown on the 2017 map will be used this year. Terrain is generally similar, but with more white, less yellow and a bit more interesting.
