Entries close on Wed 4 September.
The random start draw will be published here asap following the close of entries.

Directions
From Renmark (3 - 3 1⁄2 hours from Adelaide via the Sturt Highway): Take the continuation of the Sturt Highway from near the centre of Renmark, signposted to Paringa and Mildura. 500m after crossing the River Murray (on the historic Paringa lifting bridge), turn left in the centre of Paringa onto Murtho Road. Follow this road for 12.5km and turn left into Headings Road. After 1km of bitumen the road becomes gravel. This section tends to become corrugated, but has recently been re-graded and re-topped with new sections of slippery gravel. So drive slowly and look out for orienteers crossing the road. After 2.5km of gravel you will reach the assembly and parking area.
From Mildura: In Paringa turn right onto Murtho Road (600m after the 50kph signs). Follow directions as above.
Note: The arena is a public camping area by the River Murray and toilets will be available for Saturday night.

Also please be aware that the Renmark area is part of the Fruit-Fly-Free quarantine zone, which generally prohibits the entry of fruit and vegetables. For specifics, see http://www.murrayriver.com.au/fruit-fly-free-zone/

The start is a 400 metre walk from the arena and involves a 20m climb, so please allow sufficient time for this. Please be on the alert for traffic when walking up the road to the start.

Start times are from 10 am to 12 noon and courses close at 1:30 pm.

Terrain
The mapped area is a sandy plateau with steep drops to the River Murray (to the north) and the flood plain (to the south). There are numerous steep dangerous erosion gullies especially on the northern edge. Vegetation is light and scrubby. Running is generally fast but with soft loose sand in places. On the plateau the most frequently mapped features are knolls and high points. Beware of cliffs and steep slopes on the northern and southern edges of the plateau.
Tracks: Some parts of the mapped area have been frequented by 4WD drivers. Not all of their vehicle tracksw, particularly near the assembly/finish area, have been mapped as they are changing frequently.
